The recipient of the 2005 BPD Summer Policy Fellow Award is Ms. Bethany Wilfert from Duluth, Minnesota.  She is a social work senior at the University of Wisconsin – Superior.  Bethany recently received a McNair Scholarship to conduct an international research project titled “Youth Services in Post-War Bosnia:  A Needs Assessment”.  She has a 3.6 out of a 4.0 GPA and received a Student of Excellence Award in 2004.  She is the president of the Social Work Student Association and a board member of the Social Work Student Advisory Committee.  She has received several scholarships and foundation fellow awards.  She is currently employed as a youth worker/case manager at the Lutheran Social Service Renaissance Transitional Living Program in Duluth, Minnesota.  In season, she is a wilderness ranger/wild land fire fighter with the U.S. Forest Service in Minnesota.  She plans to pursue her MSW degree with a social policy focus.  Congratulations to Bethany on her selection as our fifth Summer Policy Fellow.
