The recipient of the 2005 BPD Summer Policy Fellow Award is Ms. Bethany Wilfert from Duluth, Minnesota.She is a social work senior at the University of Wisconsin – Superior.Bethany recently received a McNair Scholarship to conduct an international research project titled “Youth Services
in Post-War Bosnia:A Needs Assessment”.She has a 3.6 out of a 4.0 GPA and received a Student of Excellence Award in 2004.She is the president of the Social Work Student Association and a board member of the Social Work Student
Advisory Committee.She has received several scholarships and foundation fellow
awards.She is currently employed as a youth worker/case manager at the Lutheran
Social Service Renaissance Transitional Living Program in Duluth, Minnesota.In season, she is a wilderness ranger/wild
land fire fighter with the U.S. Forest Service in Minnesota.She plans to pursue her MSW degree with
a social policy focus.Congratulations to Bethany on her selection as our fifth Summer Policy
Fellow.
